So Many Ways to Serve!
Beloveds,
First, a huge thank you again for everyone’s wonderful good humor, grace under pressure, and enthusiastic participation in our Parish Hall worship service on August 7th! Wow! It felt so full of love at every turn—what a gift you all are! The AC repair was about $3,500—thankfully, your pledges help fund repairs and maintenance of such things, so we are back up and running. As you look ahead to 2023, please consider the many ways your pledges make a difference in tending our programs and our beautiful parish home!
In the meantime, I’d like to ask you if you’d like to be part of serving your fellow worshippers on a Sunday. We are looking for new members for our liturgical groups. If you haven’t tried them before, now’s your moment! What have you got to lose? 😊
- Greeters – help everyone feel warmly acknowledged as they arrive or depart from worship – this is a new team and we’re looking for fun-loving souls who have the spirit of hospitality and welcome!
- Ushers – people to help make folks feel at home in the pews when they come to worship
- Altar Guild – those who prepare the altar for worship and keeping it reverent and seasonally appropriate
- Vergers – be the leader of the altar party and the overseer of the services
- Readers – proclaim the Scriptures at the 9am, 10:30am or 6pm services
- Acolytes – help lead the people into worship and assist with communion
- Chalice Bearers – they’re coming back! We will start serving communion at the rails again on September 11 – we’d love to have you be part of it!
As fall gets underway, we believe we will see more and more ways that worship will resemble a style we once knew. However, we aren’t looking back! We are looking forward into our future, so come be a part of it. You will be trained to try any of these ministries you like so that you can see if it’s a fit. If it’s not, we’ll help you find where you do feel called to serve!
We’d love to have you be a part—how would you like to serve? Shoot me an email and I’ll get you in touch with that ministry leader! Rector@ccaaz.org.
Thank you, beloveds!
