Staff at Christ Church of the Ascension
Allison Brown, Parish Administrator
Allison is a Phoenix native and grew up downtown. She was a member of Christ Church prior to taking her current position in 2017. Over the course of her career, she has served on three non-profit Boards, one of which was the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California and a Certificate of Graphic Design. Shana Halpin, Missioner to Children and Families
Shana has been a teacher for the past 15 years, most recently at Christ Church School. She was born and raised in Louisiana and later moved to Los Angeles where she met James, her husband. They relocated to Phoenix to raise their two now teenage children.

Tom Peterson, Music Director
Tom Peterson is the Assistant Director of the Phoenix Chorale, and a Faculty Associate in composition at Arizona State University. He earned his MMus in composition at the Royal College of Music in London, and is currently completing his DMA in choral conducting at the University of Arizona. In between, he spent four years on the faculty of Phoenix College, where he taught music theory, ear training, and music history.
Tom has been part of Christ Church's music program since 2010, and became Music Director in 2013. An Arizona native, he and his wife, Teriann, live in Phoenix with their dogs, Roxie and Sebastian. Tom can be reached at 602-840-8210 or email@example.com.
Jody Cash, Communications/Administrative Assistant
Jody earned a BA in Communication Arts (with an emphasis in Marketing) from Hillsdale College in Michigan, then moved to Arizona to marry her college sweetheart, Dave. She worked in retail management and buying for 10 years, and began teaching preschool when their two daughters were young. She came to Christ Church School in 2006 as a preschool teacher and transitioned into a variety of positions in the school office as the school expanded. Jody has held various community and church volunteer positions throughout the past 20 years involving leadership, teaching/ training, and fundraising. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, Bible study, music, and walking with her dog.

Joel Morehouse, Church Organist
Joel has been active as a pipe organist, choral director, and tenor in the Phoenix area since moving here with his wife Julia Tucker in 2016. Joel earned his Masters in Music from Syracuse University and has been involved in sacred music for nearly twenty years.
Joel also enjoys time with friends, gardening, cooking, working on old cars, and reading classics.
