STEWARDSHIP AT CHRIST CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION

Stewardship is all that we do and all that we say once we say we believe. It is understanding that everything good we have in this life has come to us through grace and willingness to care for those good things as stewards of God's abundant bounty. Stewardship is a way of life that requires giving back the time, talent, and treasure with which we each are blessed.

THE ROLE OF PLEDGES

Pledging forms the foundation of stewardship. Through a stable base of annual pledges, the church can establish a realistic budget to plan and carry out its work and mission programs.

Pledging is a central element in one’s participation as a faithful member of Christ Church of the Ascension. All Christians are called to contribute a portion of their time, talent, and treasure toward the work of the church. That involvement includes participation in a specific ministry and a financial pledge.

A pledge is a general, unrestricted gift to the church. The magnitude of the pledge is less important than a willingness to commit a definite amount towards the support of God's work in the community. Please contact the church office to make a pledge.

In addition, pledging also reflects our prayerful response to God's call to be good stewards of our material possessions.

Every fall, members of Christ Church of the Ascension are asked to make their pledges for the next year. Those joining during the year can pledge at any time. Pledges are flexible and can be paid weekly, monthly, or annually, in cash, by check, or other means such as the gifting of securities. A pledge is a general, unrestricted gift to the church. The magnitude of the pledge is less important than a willingness to commit a definite amount towards the support of God's work in the community.

OTHER WAYS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Aside from annual pledges, members and friends may support Christ Church of the Ascension financially through many different types of gifts. The wide range of choices can meet the circumstances of most situations. These include outright gifts of cash or marketable securities which are simple to make and provide an immediate benefit to the church. Other options can be structured in a way which allows the donor to retain some of the income, while benefiting Christ Church of the Ascension over the long term. Of course, it is advisable to consult with a tax advisor, attorney, and/or a financial planner prior to making any gift.
