Be a Part of Our Worship Service

There are many ways you can volunteer in the services at Christ Church of the Ascension. To participate and/or volunteer, please contact the church office.

Music at Christ Church of the Ascension is an inspiration during services. New singers are always welcome. Contact Tom Peterson through the church office.

The Altar Guild cares for the consecrated elements of the Eucharist. They prepare the place of consecration for services and care for the vessels, linens, vestments and furniture used in the celebration. The Altar Guild has a sacred task serving God so members of the congregation can be spiritually strengthened by His body and blood.

The Flower Guild volunteers arrange flowers for the altar in preparation for our Sunday worship services as well as special services.

Lay Lectors and Chalice Bearers provide liturgical leadership at worship services by reading the Word of the Lord (the lessons), offering the Prayers of the People (intercessory prayers) and administering the chalice.

Acolytes play an integral role in the worship services at CCA. Acolytes lead the procession into worship by carrying the crucifix, the torches, and the Gospel Book. When the Mass has ended, the acolytes lead the congregation out into the world.

Any Youth interested in serving as an acolyte should contact Julie Lyons at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 602-840-8210.

Ushers welcome people to worship services, provide bulletins, collect the offering and assist those with physical limitations.
